We are committed to loving our neighbors, serving our city, and participating in the work of building the Kingdom of God. As a discipleship-focused community, we aim to walk alongside one another—encouraging, supporting, and growing together in our love and service to the Lord Jesus.

Justin Willis (Worship Leader)
South Carolina native, Justin is the worship leader at Anchor Church. Born and raised in the church of the Nazarene, Justin made the decision to pursue a life with Christ at an early age. He was involved in various South Carolina Nazarene district events, such as Impact, where he gained his love for worship by touring the state with a choir and band. It was also at events such as this where he met his wife, Bethany. Justin graduated from The College of Charleston with a Computer Science degree and is now a software developer for an IT company. With his family’s musical history, and ever-expanding library of favorite worship songs, Justin’s main focus in leading music is to help prepare hearts for true worship of God.

Dress Code: Clothing is mandatory. Other than that, no dress code.

Kids: During our gathering, we provide a fun and safe space for children to experience God’s love. Kids enjoy singing and dancing to worship music, creating fun crafts, and learning about who God is through Bible stories and activities—all while being cared for by trusted volunteers.

Worship: Our worship is modern with some traditional elements.

Communion: We receive communion every week at Anchor Church. We practice an open-table, that means that anyone who desires a relationship with Jesus is welcome at the table.

CORE VALUES

About Church Of the Nazarene

Loving Our Neighbors

When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might. The second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12:31. Anyone can say they are a Christian, the mark of a true follower of Jesus is that they Love their neighbors. We believe everyone is created in the image of God and deserves respect, love and dignity.

Serving Our Community

As Christians, we believe that God has called us to live the life of the Kingdom of God here on Earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). Serving our community means, not only to want the best for our fellow citizens, but be active changers in the world around us. Christ has called us to serve one another at Anchor Church, we believe in taking an active role for positive change.

Building The Kingdom Of God

Jesus said that he came to announce that the Kingdom of God is coming and for people to repent and believe in the Good News (Mark 1:14). The Kingdom of God is when the world runs as it was supposed to: Human beings living in peaceful obedience to God, harmony with one another, and ruling over creation as it was in the beginning. As followers of Christ, we believe that when we chose love over hate, selflessness over greed, humility and service over pride and fear, we reject the way of the world and embrace the alternative life of the Kingdom of God.
